too cute

This morning Phoebe grabbed hold of Vincent. He’s been recently groomed, so there was no fur to grab onto, but that’s ok because he apparently has plenty loose skin. I’m surprised she didn’t hurt him, but he seemed just fine. We’re watching her play with him for a minute, and suddenly she starts giving him kisses on his back! While gross, it was really cute. At least he was recently groomed, so he’s not as dirty as he usually may be. I went to grab the camera, but Rick moved her away too quickly for me to snap a shot. So no cute picture. She apparently really loves that dog.

Snow Day!

It snowed here this morning. Leading to a pretty good covering on our back deck. Here are a few photos. click through for more!

Vincent was there too.

Hi mom!

Proof that I was there too. Ignore the bedhead on both Rick and I. Marvel at Phoebe’s fuzzhead, as more and more hair grows there every day! I’ll also note, that the album has a few more photos. 🙂

Peas and dogs and such

Life around here has been busy this past week. Work has been stressful. Then we come home, decompress for a few hours, go to bed, get up, and do it all again! So.. what’s new?

Well, after bragging on Phoebe eating just about anything to many people lately, she has decided that she does not like peas. In fact, she is greatly annoyed at your insistence that she eat them. So annoyed she will melt down and will not even notice that you just gave her a bite of her favorite food as a peace offering (sweet potatoes). We will keep working on it, but we may end up with an orange baby afterall! Oh well. I will continue to watch for the screaming after a bite to figure out what else she doesn’t like. Now that I realize that’s what the screaming means – she is offended. It does not mean that she’s not hungry, however. She’s just offended that you’d put such a foul thing in her mouth. 🙂

In dog news, Vincent has been very sensitive lately. Sometimes just walking will make him yelp. Sometimes just brushing by one of us with his nose (which he does often since he can’t see) makes him yelp. It turns out he has arthritis of the spine and hip. I don’t know what we’re going to do at this point. The vet has offered a pain killer for him, but it is kind of expensive. So please, keep us in mind as we try to figure out what to do in this situation. I love my dog, but he is getting old. I do not want him to be in pain every second. I’m not sure we’re at that point yet, but it is bound to come. I’m afraid that it is bound to come sooner rather than later. I just need some wisdom on when I need to make that call.

In other, happier news, we’re visiting with family in Oxford this weekend. I’m very much looking forward to this trip. With work and home stresses, it is a very needed trip for us! ETA – this means I likely won’t check my email again until Sunday. So bear with me if it takes me a while to respond to comments! 🙂
