Sophie’s Blanket

I finished the blanket for the new baby this week. I used the OpArt pattern from Knitty. I did make a few changes. One is that I knitted the blanket in stockinette instead of garter stitch. Since I did this, it was curling a bit at the edges, so I added a reverse single crochet edge to hopefully cut down on the curling. I haven’t washed it yet, so these photos are of the blanket straight off the needles. I hope our new little girl likes the pattern as much as I do. šŸ™‚

  1. Yeah, that is what we’re planning on naming her. I didn’t make it very obvious, so you’re not missing anything. šŸ™‚

  2. I’m about to start this for my baby and I prefer stockinette over garter. Did the crochet edge help with the curling?

  3. It did help a bit. This was a fun pattern, and I almost would like to do it again in garter just to see how it turns out the way it should have been. Also, my gauge was a bit loose, so I’d have to do this one on smaller needles next time.
