Baby Blanket, St. Patrick’s Day Dresses, and Spaghetti!

This post is mostly a photo-catchup post. Earlier this month, our group had a baby shower for the Kenny’s who are expecting a baby girl early April. I decided about a week before the shower to crochet a baby blanket. It was kind of a challenge to myself to see if I could throw something together that quickly, as lately I’ve been taking my sweet time on projects. I chose a granny square pattern out of one of my magazines (#21 Small Granny in the Winter 2009/2010 Knit Simple). I picked out some bright yarn out of my stash, and set to work! I did my own joining and border, rather than following what the pattern did. And the results were fantastic, if I do say so myself! I loved this blanket!

As did Phoebe, who grabbed a portion of it while I was piecing it together and started toting it around.

Thankfully, the blanket was well received at the shower as well, and amazingly I finished in time to wash it and give it on time!

We also did a photoshoot of the girls in their new St. Patrick’s Day dresses that their grandma made them. There are a whole bunch of these in the album, but here’s one to show off how cute they were.

And recently, we fed Sophie Spaghetti for the first time and she loved it! Lots of pictures in the album of her eating it, but here you can see how well she liked it after she was done:

And the same night, what Phoebe responded with when told to give a “big smile.”

There are a lot of changes going on in our house at the moment. In a week we move to a new house, which is way exciting and taking up an incredible amount of time and energy right now in our family. Soon Sophie will be a year old! Which means she’s eating more table food, less baby food (though we haven’t eliminated this completely yet), and in another day or so we’ll be switching her to whole milk and soon getting rid of her bottles! And once we get settled into our new house, I hope to start really focusing on Phoebe’s potty training. So we’ve got a whole lot going on, but I really hope to get back to regular posting once we get settled into the new house. *crosses fingers*
