36 week photo

Perhaps taking a photo at night isn’t the best idea. You can kind of see that I’m pretty tired here. 😉 But that’s alright, Rick was making me laugh, so it doesn’t look too bad.

It has been a busy week in the King household. We had a shower on Saturday with the locals. I was quite surprised to see that they all teamed together and got us quite a bit of the bedding we liked and matching accessories! I really wasn’t expecting all of it at all. We had a great time spending time with everyone. Geof has a photoset on flickr that shows what a great time we all had. 🙂

Yesterday was my work shower. Where I was surprised with more of the matching accessories for our bedding! Eventually we’ll get everything put away and hung up and whatnot, and I can show you pictures of the nursery with it. 😉 We also received the carseat and stroller we picked out. That really kind of surprised us too because we just picked out the set last week right before it was bought! And we got lots of other great things at both showers too! My friends and coworkers are definitely too generous. One more shower to go, then we’ll be all set!

Otherwise, things are still good around here. I’m still doing PT once a week, and probably will continue in the coming weeks. Progress is being made there, for sure. The weekly doctor’s visits started this week, so you guys can get weekly updates on how things are progressing. But I was told at work that I’m not miserable enough. Once I’m really good and miserable, it’ll be about another week, then the baby will come. So glad to know that’s how it works. 😉

Well, I better go and get to work on all those thank you’s! 🙂

35.5 weeks, more dog stuff

We’re now down to 4.5 weeks left until my due date. That means it is getting really close! I went to the doctor this week, and my weight is up 4 lbs. According to my scale at home I’ve gained somewhere around 33 lbs. total. Also, my fundal height changed by 4 cm this past two weeks! I’ve been measuring on the low end of “normal” and now I’m smack in the middle! So we’ve hit a little growth spurt around here. Growth spurts are a good thing, I think!

Otherwise, I’m still feeling ok. The worst part now is the swelling in my feet and ankles. I’m now swollen to the point of uncomfortable, and the only shoes I can wear are my keds sandals and today I have my crocs on. The crocs are probably pushing it a bit, but it is raining and I thought they’d be better for the weather today.

In dog news, we took Vincent to Petsmart to get groomed. The grooomer nicked him on one of his pads, and was worried about it, so she took him to the in-store vet to check it out. Now, his little cut is fine. The vet added some sort of glue that stopped it from bleeding, and I never would have known any different if they hadn’t told me. Of course, I am glad they told me though. Anyway, the vet noticed his eyes were red and thought that blood was pooling in front of his cataracts. So we took him to our vet yesterday, and the verdict is… glaucoma. We have to put some drops on his food twice a day the rest of his life. If the glaucoma gets bad enough and painful enough, the only thing they can do is remove an eye. Hopefully we’ll never get to that point. I’m not particularly ready to admit that my puppy is getting old and won’t be with us forever. This is just another reminder that he is, indeed, getting old.

On a happier note, I leave you with the last two pictures we took!

33.5 weeks

I do have a picture from this week, but we still haven’t pulled it off the camera! Maybe we’ll get to that this weekend. Oh I’m so happy to have a long weekend! I’ve worked through the last three holidays I’ve gotten, but I’m staying at home for this one. Nesting is starting to kick in and I need the time to organize and clean my house! 😉

Last weekend I had my first two showers. My mom has photos up here. The single items you see in the beginning of the album are the items she gave us. I can’t believe how much stuff she cross-stitched! You can see how full my car was at the end of the album. And they’re coming out to bring the rest of the stuff we couldn’t fit! Right now all that stuff is piled in the center of the nursery. I need to get that stuff put away this weekend! So I think we had two great showers last weekend! It was nice to see everyone too. I got to see friends and family that I don’t get to see too often, and that’s always fun.

In health news, my physical therapy appointments have been reduced from twice a week to once a week. This is because my back has been hurting me very little in the past week, so apparently therapy is helping. I have decided that I like electrical stimulation very much on my back! My therapy sessions always end with that, and it feels sooo nice.

I also went to the doctor this week. I gained 4 lbs. between this visit and the last. She mentioned that it was a little more than she’d like to see, but not too bad. So I’m almost getting fussed at for my weight gain. I didn’t ask what my total weight gain is at right now, but I think it is probably around 30 lbs. It may be a pound or two less than that, but it has to be close! If I remember to weigh myself at home, I’d know a little more sure, but I keep forgetting. Oh well. We’re still ok on weight gain, and I haven’t been too worried about it. Hopefully I won’t be completely fussed at next time!

32 weeks

32 weeks

Honestly, these pictures make me look bigger than I really am. It’s somewhat strange. Anyway, there is the 32 week photo!

There’s not much new to update in this week, since I just updated Sunday night. The belly button watch is still underway. If I sit or stretch a certain way, my very shallow belly button disappears! We still have a ways to go to becoming an outie though. So this baby’s definitely not done yet! 😉

I have an appt. next week, so perhaps I will have more to update then. 🙂

ETA – Oh yeah, I got my haircut this weekend. So my hair looks different in this one!
