Um, several weeks ago we had a party for Sophie with all of our local friends. One of our friends was also supposed to have a party the day before, but due to weather, we combined the two. The upside to this plan? They had lots of outdoor toys and a big inflatable slide for all of the kiddos to have fun! Here are some pics. The pictures are thanks to Renee and Alex, because, well, my camera battery died so I didn’t get any pictures myself. 🙁 All of these pictures, plus a few more are in the album.
Sophie was not really interested in getting all messy to eat her cake. So I tried to get video, but you can see my efforts to draw her into it largely failed. She was happy as long as I was feeding it to her.
She’s an incredibly happy baby/soon to be toddler! She loves her cheerios! She often has one of these snack cups with cheerios in her hand!
She used to hate bath, but has come around to enjoy them. She even handles the hair washing better than her sister!
Last night I tried to get some 12 month shots. The top photo of this post is my favorite. But I also love this one of her and Phoebe laughing. They were both just playing and rolling around on the couch and giggling and having a good old time! Of course, they stopped once the video camera came out!
There are many more pictures in the album of her party and shots from her 12 month photoshoot last night. My mom also took some party pictures, as well as some Easter photos of us that you can go check out!
Sophie also had her 12 month check yesterday. Isn’t it amazing how happy she looks in those pictures that we took last night after having 3 shots and a finger prick earlier in the afternoon? Our little girl is doing great developmentally and she’s still growing like a weed. Here are her stats:
Weight: 25 lbs. 9 oz.
Height: 30 1/8”
Head circumference: 46.7 cm.
This post is mostly a photo-catchup post. Earlier this month, our group had a baby shower for the Kenny’s who are expecting a baby girl early April. I decided about a week before the shower to crochet a baby blanket. It was kind of a challenge to myself to see if I could throw something together that quickly, as lately I’ve been taking my sweet time on projects. I chose a granny square pattern out of one of my magazines (#21 Small Granny in the Winter 2009/2010 Knit Simple). I picked out some bright yarn out of my stash, and set to work! I did my own joining and border, rather than following what the pattern did. And the results were fantastic, if I do say so myself! I loved this blanket!
There are a lot of changes going on in our house at the moment. In a week we move to a new house, which is way exciting and taking up an incredible amount of time and energy right now in our family. Soon Sophie will be a year old! Which means she’s eating more table food, less baby food (though we haven’t eliminated this completely yet), and in another day or so we’ll be switching her to whole milk and soon getting rid of her bottles! And once we get settled into our new house, I hope to start really focusing on Phoebe’s potty training. So we’ve got a whole lot going on, but I really hope to get back to regular posting once we get settled into the new house. *crosses fingers*
This year we had an excellent Christmas! The girls got lots of great things from Santa, and then we went to MS to spend time with family. Here is a video of Phoebe and Sophie seeing what Santa brought first thing on Christmas morning:
A few photos from Christmas morning. I only have aftermath photos. Rick got a before one with his blackberry, but I don’t think that one’s been transferred to the computer.
Phoebe enjoying her kitchen.
Sophie enjoying her Little People farm just before we left for Mississippi. That hat was Phoebe’s when she had her first Christmas and it barely fit on a 2.5 month old Phoebe. I think it’s kind of funny on Sophie! Also note her cute candy cane dress that Grandma made! Phoebe had a matching one.
The week before Christmas, Grandma and Grandpa came to spend a few days with us and to help us get our house ready to sell. Rick decided to get cupcakes for dessert one night while they were here. Phoebe rather enjoyed hers (it had red icing).
Last Friday Phoebe’s daycare had their Christmas Program. Phoebe’s class dressed up like presents, and one of the kids was a Christmas tree and they danced to “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree.” Imagine a bunch of 1.5-2 year olds dancing as presents to get the full cuteness factor effect! Soon we’ll have video, but for now there are some pictures up in our December Picasa album (link under the photo).
